Offer-Bid to Purchase – 6278 CR 27 Auburn

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2020-01, the DeKalb County Airport Authority intends to sell a parcel of real estate located at 6278 County Road 27, Auburn, Indiana, consisting of 5.0 acres, more or less, and more specifically described as follows:

Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 19, Township 33 North, Range 13 East, DeKalb County, Indiana, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an iron pin on the East line of Section 19, said iron pin being 273.85 feet North of the East Quarter Corner of Section 19; thence North 89 degrees 26 minutes West, 1342.1 feet to an iron pin; thence North 00 degrees 13 minutes West, 162.25 feet to an iron pin; thence South 89 degrees 26 minutes East, 1342.7 feet to an iron pin on the East line of Section 19; thence South 00 degrees 00 minutes East on and along said East line, 162.25 feet to the place of beginning, containing 5.0 acres, more or less.

and that bids for the purchase of said real estate will be accepted at the DeKalb County Airport, 2710 County Road 60, Auburn, Indiana 46706 beginning July 13, 2020, and continuing from day to day until 12:00 noon on the 3rd day of August, 2020.  Bids must be on a form available at the DeKalb County Airport, which will be mailed or e-mailed upon request by calling Russ Couchman, Disposing Agent, at 260-927-8876.  Bids must be accompanied by a money order or check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid amount as an earnest money deposit.  Deposits tendered by unsuccessful bidders will be returned to the bidders on or after August 3, 2020.  The deposit by the successful bidder will be applied to the purchase price and will be forfeited if the successful bidder fails or refuses to proceed to closing.

The property will be sold for cash at closing; no proposal for an installment sale will be accepted.  DeKalb County Airport Authority will, at its expense, provide title insurance and will convey the property at closing to the successful bidder by general warranty deed.  All other closing costs will be split equally between the buyer and seller.  Bids will be opened for public inspection upon receipt.  A bidder may raise the bidder’s bid, and the raise takes effect after other bidders have been notified of the increase.

The property may not be sold to a person who is ineligible under Indiana Code section 36-1-11-16.  A bid submitted by a trust as defined in Indiana Code section 30-4-1-1(a) must identify each beneficiary of the trust and each settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust.

The property may be viewed upon request.  A reserve exists, and DeKalb County Airport Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
